If you like to read about Coney Island Hot dogs the Coney Detroit Book is a great choice. In around 2003 Joe Grimm was trying to think what was a very Detroit institution on the highway and thought of the Coney Detroit Book. Author’s Joe Grimm and Katherine Yung started working on the Coney Detroit Book with 20 other people.

In 2003 they started and it was published in March 2012. They also found about 500 Coney places. Joe Grimm said, “The book talks how Detroit and Michigan became the Coney capital of the world.” Some places were in Flint, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Port Huron, Pontiac, Traverse City, and many more. The difference in each place was “the people and the atmosphere” said Joe Grimm. The Coney Detroit Book is sold in Wayne State University, Barnes and Nobles, and Amazon. All royalties will be donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank.
