Discipline! Heart! Respect! These three things are what separates Cooper’s Gym from any other. This place was opened in 1974 by Anna Cooper and her husband.

She actually came from the Ukraine after World War II. She says she opened the gym because she wanted a place where people could go and learn self-defense and confidence.

She said, “I named it after my husband’s last name.” She said Cooper’s is a very diverse place where kids and adults of all races could come and be safe. The surrounding area was affected positively over the years. I am one of those people. It is a fun, yet serious place.

People 5 and older can join Cooper’s to learn to protect themselves and make new friends from different races. It is an exhilarating experience.

Cooper’s Gym at 16849 West Warren Ave. has won many championship belts from different types of competitions like mixed martial arts, jujitsu, and taekwando. If you like making friends and fighting, this is the place for you.
